‘Cooking for Wellness’ class aims to help prevent, treat diabetes

Delaware County residents who want to learn healthier cooking habits may want to grab their spatulas and sign up for an upcoming class in Sharon Hill.

The Delaware County Health Department is hosting a Cooking for Wellness event aimed at individuals who are prediabetic, diabetic or just interested in improving their eating habits. Slated for noon to 2 p.m. on March 30 at the Good Neighbor Senior Center, the interaction session will focus on practical ways to prevent, delay and manage diabetes by making “small changes in the kitchen.”

In addition to learning simple strategies to make nutritious meals that support long-term health, participants in the session will receive helpful resources and giveaways.

Spots are still available, but early registration is recommended as space may be limited. To register, call the Delaware County Wellness Line at 484-276-2100 any time from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
