Edgmont Township, White Horse Village collect toys, food, winter wear for those in need
The winter holiday season is a time for celebration, but also one for giving back. And those in and around the Edgmont community truly stepped up this past year. During the months leading up to the big days, and for a few weeks after, Edgmont Township hosted holiday drives to collect a variety of items for those in need.
Since the collections have concluded, the township was able to release to the community its totals. In all, the township collected:
- Food Drive: 107 bags and boxes of food
- Coat Drive: 153 coats, 47 pairs of gloves, 36 hats, 25 scarves
- Toys for Tots: 11 bins of toys
The township staff was thrilled with the heartfelt outpouring of donations.
“We had so many generous donations that we had FIVE pick-ups throughout our event,” said a post on the township’s Facebook page, . “A huge thank you to all the residents and White Horse Village for helping our drives become a success!”
The retirement home partnered with the township to also collect goods at its location, too. All items were donated for use by those in need in and around Delaware County.
