If you’ve ever had a desire to serve your community, to keep others safe, and represent your community, the Newtown Township Police Department may have just the ticket. Currently, the department is hiring for the position of Police Officer.
To qualify, applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have “a positive attitude,” said the township’s site. The job posting goes on to explain you must be a U.S. citizen, have a high school diploma or possess the GED certification, have a valid driver’s license in the state of Pennsylvania, and be “physically and mentally fit to perform all duties and job functions as a police officer.”

To date, the academy has produced 95 percent of all police in Delaware County, as well as half the force in Chester County. The Academy is certified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania through the Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission in Harrisburg, Pa.
An application, along with a resume, must be submitted to the Chief of Police, Christopher Lunn, at the Newtown Township Police Department, located at 209 Bishop Hollow Road, in Newtown Square, Pa. 19073.
