PSP, RTMSD respond to attack at Penncrest High School
Two teenage boys came to Penncrest High School on Tuesday, March 10, went into the school building, and attacked a girl, according to police.
Pennsylvania State Police Troopers responded at 5:15 p.m. on March 10, 2026, to a report of a fight at the school, police said. According to police, there had been a delay in reporting the incident so all of the participants had left by the time the troopers arrived.
However, the investigation found that a 17-year-old Philadelphia boy and his companion came to the school at 345 Barren Road in Middletown Township seeking the victim, a 15-year-old Newtown Square girl, police said.
The two youths then entered the school and located the victim, police reported. They allegedly punched her in the face, causing a cut on her lip, police said. The victim was able to escape, and the perpetrators fled the area, said police.
“Those actors are not Penncrest students and were not authorized to be on school property,” PSP said in a press release.
A juvenile allegation charging simple assault and trespass was prepared for the 17-year-old suspect, police said. They have not ascertained the name or age of the friend who accompanied the suspect to Penncrest.
The Rose Tree Media School District released a statement.
“Regarding the incident on March 10, 2026, after school hours at Penncrest High School: We can confirm that a Penncrest student was injured in what Pennsylvania State Police have described as a targeted attack by two juveniles who do not attend Penncrest and who do not live in the Rose Tree Media School District.”
The investigation remains active and is being handled by the Pennsylvania State Police, via the Media Station. Trooper Colin Nissley is the investigating officer.
