Thieves make off with $92K worth of Verizon’s copper wire, police say

State police continue to search for robbers who allegedly removed over 2,000 feet of copper wire from a site in Thornbury Township, according to reports.
According to Media-based Pennsylvania State Police, a theft was reported on Thursday, March 5 in the area of Thornbury Township. Police were called to the area between Cheyney Road and Derry Drive around 10:49 a.m., according to police, for the report of the theft. Upon arrival at the scene, troopers were told that around 2,000 feet of Verizon’s copper wire was stolen from the area.
The wire, police said, was valued at $92,000. Troopers said they are searching for “suspicious vehicles including a gold or tan Ford Explorer and a blue Oldsmobile Bravada.” No arrests have yet to be made in the incident.
