Flyers sign Tyson Foerster to a 2-year contract extension
The Flyers locked up one of their pending restricted free agents on a bridge deal on Thursday, inking Tyson Foerster to a 2-year, $7.5 million contract extension.

The 23-year-old Foerster, who was drafted 23rd overall by the Flyers in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, is coming off a breakout 2024–25 season.
He recorded career highs with 25 goals and 43 points over 81 games, establishing himself as a key contributor in the Flyers’ offensive lineup.
His six power-play goals ranked third on the team, trailing only Travis Konecny and Matvei Michkov.
Known for his powerful shot and two-way play, Foerster has shown significant development since his NHL debut in March 2023.
His progression has been a bright spot for the Flyers in the midst of their rebuilding phase.
The team’s management views Foerster as a foundational piece for their future success, but wants to see continued progression over the next two seasons before considering a longer-term deal.
That’s why two-year extension is seen as a “bridge deal,” providing Foerster with the opportunity to continue his development and prove his value for a potential long-term contract in the future.
