Fine art to be featured along State Street with the Media Arts Show

The Media Arts Council and the Media Business Authority are bringing back the annual Spring Arts Show.

The Arts Show will be held April 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The rain date is April 26.

There will be 150 juried artists displaying their creations in booths along State Street. Artists are still invited to apply for this juried show. Applications close on March 27.

“It’s not just a show, it’s original artwork of all genres,” said Jeff Thomas, MAC artistic director. The art will be “fine art” rather than crafts, he said.

MAC will also host a beer and wine tent with local breweries and wineries featured at the Plum Street Mall, he said.

Thomas said the event’s organizers really need volunteers to help. They hope to have about 75 people sign up. There will be volunteer training on Wednesday, April 23 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Media Borough Hall, 301 N. Jackson Street in Media. Volunteers will receive a free Media Spring Arts Show T-shirt and food vouchers for the day of the event.

“Come and enjoy downtown Media,” said Thomas.
