Santa plans a busy day in Marple Township Saturday, Dec. 6

Wouldn’t it be great if you could track Santa’s every move? It only seems fair if he knows when we are sleeping, and when we are awake, that we could at least know where he’s at during the holiday seasons.

Thanks to the Broomall Fire Company, local families will get to do just that, at least for one day. On Dec. 6, the fire company was alerted directly from the North Pole that the big guy himself will be making some visits to the Marple Township communities.

“Santa’s route was carefully planned so we can visit as many areas in our town as possible with his very busy schedule,” said a post from the Company’s Facebook page. “If you miss us along the way, be sure to visit the Marple Township Christmas Tree Lighting at Veterans Park.”

The lighting events will kick-off around 6 p.m., and the public is welcome to attend. Santa should be at the park around 6:45 p.m. with fireworks set for shortly after his arrival.

“We will be sharing all of the letters we collect with Mailman Jim to make sure Santa gets all of them at the North Pole,” said the post. Interested Santa fans can track the Jolly St. Nick to watch where he is along the parade route from 4 p.m.

Before he can host a parade, however, Santa will need to get his energy. He will be at the Firehouse Santa visit and pancake breakfast Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All are welcome to bring Santa a letter directly, snap a picture with the smiling Kris Kringle, and even check out the Company’s fire trucks.

The Fire Company will also host a collection for donations for Toys for Tots all day long. Enjoy a day filled with some of Broomall’s favorite events. To recap, the day will include:

  • Firehouse Santa visit with pancakes 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Live Santa tracker begins at 4 p.m.
  • Santa parade throughout Marple Township starting at  4:30 p.m.
  • Veterans Park Tree Lighting at 6:30 p.m.
  • Fireworks to follow Santa’s arrival

The Broomall Fire Company is located at 1 N. Malin Road in Broomall. Veterans Park is located along Lawrence Road within Marple Township.
