Carnival for a Cure shatters goals, raised funds for Foundation Fighting Blindness
The students at Penncrest High School set a lofty goal for themselves. They wanted to raise at least $4,000 for the Foundation Fighting Blindness with its Carnival for a Cure benefit on March 7.
By all accounts, they hit that goal and then some. As the numbers came in, organizers said over $13,277 (and still counting) have been raised.
While the event was free for guests to attend, games, food, live music, raffles and bounce houses were all at the ready. Because all proceeds raised went to the charity, “every laugh, ticket, and game played makes a difference,” said the Rose Tree Media School District.
The Foundation Fighting Blindness describes itself as a “driving force in the global development of treatments and cures for blinding diseases.” The Baltimore-based organization has helped fund and advance more than 50 clinical trials for potential treatments, and in 2025 it funded 113 grants globally across 90 institutions.
Well done, students, families, and staff!
