‘Nova intern completes a full semester with Marple police
Sometimes the best way to learn is by example. Internships are designed to do just that, and at the Marple Township Police Department the concept is no different.
This past fall semester, the MTPD had the good fortune to welcome an intern to its headquarters. Hannah McGovern, a psychology and criminology major from Villanova University, completed her internship over the holidays. For ten weeks, McGovern learned by watching. She observed the department, on her own time, added Chief of Police Brandon Graeff, via MTPD’s CrimeWatch page.
“Hannah spent a few days each week with our officers, observing the day-to-day operations of our Police Department and learning about what a law enforcement career entails,” said Graeff.
The department enjoyed time with the student.
“Thanks for reaching out to us, Hannah,” said Graeff. “Enjoy the rest of your senior year at Villanova University.”
