New Delco sheriff meets with Media Police Department

The Delaware County Sheriff has many hats to wear while working for our county. In his first months in office, he has spent time getting to know other law enforcement personnel throughout the area.

Siddiq Kamara, 30, is the youngest person to serve as the county’s sheriff in Delaware County. He is also the first African American immigrant to be placed in the role.

During this week, the sheriff, who was sworn in on Jan. 6, was able to meet with the Media Borough Police. His visit to the department was posted on his own social media pages.

“[I was] proud to meet this morning with our partners at the Media Borough Police Department as we continue building a stronger, more collaborative relationship,” said Kamara on Facebook. “Working together across agencies strengthens public safety, improves communication, and better serves the people of Delaware County.”
