Man charged with indecent exposure, open lewdness after exposing himself to Media woman

After a man exposed himself to a woman in Media, borough police were able to locate him with the help of Swarthmore police and traffic cameras.

Media Borough Police were dispatched to the unit block of East Jefferson Street for the report of an “indecent act” on Thursday, April 2, around 2:21 p.m. A woman said that, as she walked to her vehicle, a black Jeep Wrangler pulled up in her driveway and a man driver exited from the Jeep’s driver’s side door.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, Media police said that the male driver was wearing a pale yellow hoodie, with a hood pulled up on his head. The man stepped to the side of his open door, facing the woman, and was naked from the waist down, “exposing himself,” police said.

Police said the woman reported that the male actor asked, “Do you want to see my [expletive deleted],” and she told him to get back in his car. The woman said that the man’s blue pants were down around his ankles during the exchange, and that he had no other coverings on his lower half. The woman also provided the Jeep’s license plate, which had a Maryland tag.

According to police, the description of the vehicle and its license plate was photographed on VIPR cameras at Baltimore Pike and Wallingford Road in Springfield Township. Swarthmore Police located the car, traveling east on Baltimore Pike at Church Road. After radio calling the county’s system, Swarthmore and Media police attempted to make a traffic stop involving the Jeep. Police said the driver did not immediately stop, despite them operating lights and sirens. He continued “at slow speeds” east on Baltimore Avenue toward Woodland Avenue.

Police said that the driver did then pull over, coming to a stop near Woodland Avenue. The man was wearing the described yellow hoodie with its hood still pulled up, police said.

Oseghae Olatobi Iguade, 34, of Ensleigh Lane in Bowie, Md., was identified as the driver. The female victim also identified the man as the one who’d exposed himself. Police took Iguade into custody.

Iguade is charged with indecent exposure, open lewdness, and harassment. He had a preliminary arraignment on April 2 at 6 p.m., during which a bail was set at $75,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 1 at 9 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Elizabeth S. Gallard.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
