Of course Edmundo Sosa robbed a home run in his first left field start
Edmundo Sosa has been on such a tear offensively that it forced the Phillies to give him a start in left field Tuesday in Atlanta. In his first career start in the outfield, Sosa made quite the first impression.
In the home half of the first inning, three-time All-Star Marcell Ozuna hit what appeared was going to be a home run into the Phillies bullpen. But Sosa had other plans:

It’s the continuation of what’s been an incredible start for Sosa, who entered the day hitting .550.
An inning later, a ball hit by Austin Riley did drop in the outfield because of a seeming lack of communication between Sosa and Johan Rojas. Although it’s hard to blame Sosa for this:
Great defense by the Phillies here 🤦♂️

Later in the inning, Atlanta catcher Sean Murphy hit a three-run home run with two outs, which wouldn’t have had the chance to happen if the ball hadn’t dropped between Sosa and Rojas.
