World’s best NFL analyst picks Eagles to win the Super Bowl

Most NFL analysts don’t really know what to make of Super Bowl LIX. The consensus, to the extent there is any, seems to be that the Eagles have a slightly more talented roster top-to-bottom, while Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have the “it factor” that put them in position for a potential three-peat.

But the world’s foremost professional football prognosticator, Fiona the hippopotamus, says this year’s big game will go to the Birds.

Fiona correctly predicted the Eagles’ victory over the Patriots in 2018.

And before you accuse sweet Fiona of being some kind of biased Eagles fan, know that she is a consummate professional. In the 2023 Super Bowl between the Eagles and Chiefs, Fiona went with Kansas City.

Fiona knew that the Eagles’ secondary would get carved up that year. And she knows that the unit is light years better this year.

You cannot compare the 2022 Eagles defense to 2024. That defense had an elite pass rush against mediocre QBs and was middle of the pack in every other way. This year’s defense is the only one that generates negative EPA per play even without pressuring the QB.
