Are you ready for Dining Under the Stars in Media?
The seasonal tradition begins May 6.
Wouldn’t it be great if, midweek, you could take a small break from life’s chaos to enjoy a delicious meal? What if you could do that outdoors, even? Those near the Media area are in luck. Every Wednesday from May to September, Dining Under the Stars provides the opportunity to do just that.
In just a few weeks, the festivities begin, and the Media Business Authority is already hard at working preparing.
“We’re just 3 weeks away from Dining Under the Stars,” said the MBA on social media. “We’re busy behind the scenes planning an unforgettable season in Everybody’s Hometown, and trust us, you’re going to want to be here for it all!”
The special evenings provide a good excuse for not only dining out but to support area small businesses.
“Dig into delicious dishes from around the world while dining al fresco in downtown Media,” said the MBA’s dedicated Facebook page for the annual tradition. “Discover unique finds at our family-owned boutiques, specialty shops, and local gems.”
If good food, a break from cooking, and fresh air weren’t enough to entice you, there will also be music.
“Enjoy exciting live entertainment each week at the Rafferty Subaru Artistic Performance Space (in front of the Media Armory / Trader Joe’s),” said the post.
And, while it is a nice excuse for mom and dad to have a date night, the Dining Under the Stars events are not age-restricted.
“Round up the kiddos for weekly fun at the Nemours Balloon Twisting Tent,” explained the MBA’s page. “Stop by and support a different Featured Nonprofit Organization each week, thanks to The Foundation for Delaware County.”
As a proud sponsor, Thomas Chevrolet will also host the County Corvette Association every other week with a “stunning lineup” of vehicles. And romance may move you. Dancing Under the Stars will also be offered, alongside free bike parking, and specially designed surprises all season long.
“Mark your calendars and get ready for magical Wednesday nights on State Street!” said the Dining Under the Stars coordinators. Dining Under the Stars begins on May 6. The event includes a few important reminders before the start:
- No dogs and other animals
- Alcoholic beverages must remain at point of purchase
- No bicycles, scooters, roller skates or skateboards
- No smoking or vaping
- No ball throwing or water guns
- Parents must supervise their children at all times
