Marple Police Department promotes from within
A celebration was hosted on Monday, April 20, as Marple Township Police Department promoted one of its own.
Officer Joseph Varacalli was promoted Monday to the rank of sergeant.
“Proud family and coworkers were on hand to watch the promotion ceremony of Officer Varacalli,” said a post on the MTPD CrimeWatch page.
He was sworn into his position on Nov. 13, 2017. Quickly making a name for himself, the officer was named as the 2018 Officer of the Year.
